lisa marie presleyLisa Marie Presley gave birth to twin daughters this week, her spokesperson confirmed yesterday.

Lisa Marie and husband Michael Lockwood welcomed the baby girls on Tuesday 7th October. The as-yet-unnamed girls were born by Caesarian section at 2:46pm and weight in at 5lbs, 15oz and 5lbs 2oz.

Writing on her MySpace page ahead of the birth, Lisa Marie said that she and Michael were “beyond thrilled and blessed, elated and saturated in happiness” in anticipation of the babies’ arrival.

Lisa Marie has two older children - 19 year old daughter Riley and 15 year old son Benjamin - from her previous marriage and a source close to the family added that the teenagers will be very much involved with their new siblings: “Lisa Marie is feeling good, though a little tired. She is so happy and Michael is ecstatic. He’s wanted to be a dad for so long. This is his dream come true.

“The birth went along without a hitch. There was no drama. The babies are healthy and beautiful. Ben was seen pushing them down the hall in their cart and cooing to them.”
