David & Victoria Beckham’s housekeepers arrested for theft

Victoria and David Beckham are reportedly shaken after their housekeepers were arrested on suspicion of theft.

Eric and June Emmett had worked for the couple at their Hertfordshire mansion, dubbed “Beckingham Palace”, for nearly a decade but were arrested when the family’s personal items began appearing on eBay.

A source told the Sun: “Tony and Jackie were tipped off about some of David and Victoria’s possessions appearing on eBay. They recognised the items as ones which had either been given to David and Victoria or bought by them and placed in their home.

“When they checked out the house they discovered items matching those being offered for sale were missing and called in the police.”

The items included designer clothes belonging to Victoria and David’s various football kits, including two odd boots - one of which featured the names of the couple’s three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

The source added: “[David and Victoria] are both very shaken. The idea someone has been rifling through their personal possessions is bad enough, but to think it is allegedly people they trusted so much is even more horrific.

“[Many items] were most personal and sentimental items collected by Victoria and David during their time abroad.

“Some of the things were given to them as presents and are unique because they were specially made for them. They include mostly small but expensive trinkets and some pieces on decorative display.”

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire police confirmed the Emmetts had been arrested but “later released on police bail pending further investigations.” Ebay has also confirmed they’re carrying out their own investigations.

June Emmett told the Mirror: “I totally deny the allegations. It has been like a bolt out of the blue for both me and my husband.

“I’m shocked by the whole thing.”
