Wendy Richard denies reports her cancer is terminal

Wendy Richard has cleared up reports that she’s been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Earlier in the month, the former Eastenders star revealed her breast cancer had returned for a third time but while it’s serious, she still has a good chance of recovery.

She told OK magazine: “The stories in the papers really upset me.

“It’s not as bad as they’re saying. No one has said I am terminally ill.

“I start chemo next week and, because I’ve never had it before, my oncologist says I can get the full effect from the treatment. So fingers crossed it will do the job.”

She added that she’s already bought a new wig to help “psyche herself up” for the treatment: “I have my wig ready. My hairdresser was upset but he came round to look at it and said ‘It’s OK’.”

Wendy is said to have been supporting Jade Goody through her own chemotherapy after the two women met at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London recently.
