Kevin Costner confirms wife is pregnant with second child

Kevin Costner has confirmed his wife Christine Baumgartner is pregnant with the couple’s second child.

The pair welcomed son Cayden Wyatt Costner into the world in May 2007 and afterwards Kevin, who also has three older children from his first marriage, admitted that he had initially been scared of marrying Christine because he was unsure whether he could be “an effective father”.

He told Parade magazine: “For years, fear kept me from marrying Christine. She said, ‘I’m about children. If you want to be with me, if you want to get married, you should know that’s part of my make-up.’

“I woke up and thought, ‘Am I going to lose a beautiful woman who is willing to be with me to my very last breath because I am afraid to say yes to a child?’ That’s all it took. I decided I was not going to miss out on love.”

The baby is due next spring.
