David Duchovny & Téa Leoni confirm they separated several months ago

David Duchovny separated from wife Téa Leoni at the start of the summer, his spokesperson has now confirmed.

The couple are said to have separated before the X-Files star entered treatment for sex addiction in August but they had wanted to keep the split quiet for as long as possible.

A statement released yesterday explained: “In light of continuous speculation over the lives and marriage of Tea Leoni and David Duchovny, the couple has confirmed that they have in fact been separated for several months.

“The couple had hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their children.”

Téa’s spokesperson added: “They have separated. She is living with the children in New York, but we did not want to announce it for their sake until David had treatment for his problems.”

David was released from treatment at the start of the month and was spotted out and about New York with Téa the following weekend.

The couple married in 1997 and have two children: nine year old daughter Madelaine and six year old son Kyd.
