Guy Ritchie to accept just £20million for divorce settlement?

While he may be entitled to up to £70million, Guy Ritchie is likely to walk away from his marriage to Madonna with a settlement worth around just £20million, according to reports.

The Snatch director’s estimated existing £30million fortune is dwarfed by Madonna’s rumoured £300million but sources say he’ll accept a lower figure to avoid a bitter fight.

A source close to Guy told the Mail on Sunday: “He just wants out, he has had enough of the Madonna circus and he is massively relieved. It was never about the money.

“The most important things to him are having full access to his kids, whom he adores, and a quiet life.

“The one thing he wants more than anything is their [£10million] house in the country along with his pub The Punchbowl. She is [also] giving Guy £10million, which is the value of their London home and it’s basically a way of buying his silence.

“The deal includes Guy signing a gagging order - he will never be able to talk about what really went on. Guy is more than happy to sign - it’s not his style to talk. He just wants to move on with his life.

“There is no more pain left, just relief. Guy is walking away and has said he is a much happier man.”

The source added that a fair portion of that money will go towards buying him a home in New York - as he expects Madonna will move their children - sons Rocco & David and his step-daughter Lourdes - over there: “Guy is the most doting father you can imagine. He absolutely adores the kids, all of them .. [but] he is not going for custody of the kids because he knows the chance of getting them is very slim. Madonna has never harmed the children or been a bad mother.

“[His] legal team have advised him she will get custody and that the children will probably be based in America so Guy is making plans to buy an apartment in New York.

“Madonna’s love affair with England is over and she wants her old life in the States back again. The children are with her now in New York and she plans to educate them in the States.

“It will be hard for him because he has been spending a lot of time with the children, especially while Madonna has been on tour. He hates the idea of the kids always being on a plane living a New York-London lifestyle, but that will probably be the reality.”
