Sheryl Crow: breast cancer taught me to look after myself first sometimes

Sheryl Crow has revealed her breast cancer made her realise it’s important to be selfish sometimes.

The singer was diagnosed with the disease in February 2006 but has been given the all clear after a lumpectomy and radiation treatment.

She explained recently: “Breast cancer helped me put myself first in life.

“Once I stepped out of radiation, I had to remember that the only person who could take care of me was me.

“I’d better do that before I take care of everybody else, instead of everybody else first.

“I feel more connected to my life now that I’ve had - and beat - breast cancer.”
