Amy Winehouse hospitalised with another chest infection

Amy Winehouse was hospitalised over the weekend after doctors worried her lung problems from earlier in the year had returned.

The singer became ill last week and was visited at her home by a doctor on Thursday. However her condition had worsened by Saturday and she was rushed to the private hospital, the London Clinic, where she was treated for lung problems in June.

A spokesperson for the Back to Black star confirmed: “Amy is in hospital being checked out for a chest infection.

“She is not back in rehab. She should be fine and is expected to return home soon.”

In June, doctors are said to have diagnosed Amy with the early stage of fatal lung disease emphysema and according to her dad Mitch Winehouse, she has been told “if she goes back to smoking drugs, it will kill her.”

Last Wednesday, Amy was failed to appear at a police station in central London to answer questions about an alleged assault of a photographer in September. She is now said to have been warned that if she misses another appointment, she will be arrested.
