Lindsay Lohan’s dad: I was wrong to judge Sam Ronson

Lindsay Lohan’s estranged dad Michael Lohan has said he realises he was wrong for criticising Lindsay’s girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Michael, who became a minister while in jail, previously called DJ Sam a “dark, hideous, and a disgusting representation of humanity” and suggested that Sam is using his actress daughter to further her own music career.

Now he’s quoted in New York magazine as saying he regrets his comments: “I definitely regret all the things I said about Samantha. I’m a Christian. I should not pass judgment on anyone.

“In the past, I felt that the best way to get to her was to speak out publicly. And it was the wrong choice.

“Family matters should be kept private. I’ve learned that now.”

Lindsay initially became estranged from her dad when he was sentenced to two years in jail for numerous probation violations and DUI offences - but the pair reconciled last autumn when Lindsay was in rehab. However Michael’s comments have driven a new wedge between the pair, with Lindsay saying: “He has no idea what is going on in my life because I have chosen not to involve him in it. .. If he really cared about me and my life, then he would learn to respect my wishes by staying out of it.”
