Jennifer Hudson says goodbye to murdered family at funeral

Jennifer Hudson buried her mother, brother and nephew at a private funeral in Chicago yesterday.

The Oscar-winning actress is said to have spent several moments with each other caskets and kissed the body of her mother Darnell Donerson goodbye during the service at the city’s Apostolic Church of God.

Jennifer’s fellow American Idol season 3 contest Fantasia Barrino - who won the series - sang a gospel song for the congregation and referred to the Hudsons as “my family”. Reverend Jesse Jackson and Chicago’s Mayor Richard Daley also spoke during the three hour ceremony. A horse-drawn carriage then led the procession to nearby Oak Woods Cemetery.

Darnell’s body was found with Jennifer’s brother Jason’s body at their South Side home on 24th October. The body of seven year old Julian King was found in an abandoned car, believed to have belonged to Jason, on Monday morning.

Jennifer’s estranged brother-in-law William Balfour has been classed as a “person of interest” in the case and is being held on a separate parole violation, but has not yet been charged or even officially named a suspect in the case.
