Guests at the event, which took place at the Hotel Bel Air on Saturday, including Nicole Richie (with daughter Harlow), Emmy Rossum, Ashlee’s sister Jessica Simpson and their mum Tina Simpson.

A source reported that Ashlee “was glowing and insanely happy” as she opened gifts from Kitson Kids and dined on chicken and mashed potatoes, echoing her family’s Southern roots.

The source added that dad-to-be Pete Wentz also stopped in for a short while: “He was so excited too!”

The baby, the couple’s first, is due in the next few weeks.
