Terri is said to have finally finished with the X Factor judge over the phone last month after their relationship of six years slowed down over the last year and Terri came to terms with Simon’s ongoing adamant refusal to get married or have children.

Speaking at the Music Industry Awards on Monday night, Simon said: “Don’t worry about me - I don’t need a lonely hearts ad.

“I’m off women now. But everything’s fine between me and Terri - we’re still friends. In fact that was her on the phone just now.

“I’ve always been very close to all my ex-girlfriends. We’ve never fallen out - they’re like my best friends.”

However, someone he has fallen out with - Sharon Osbourne - had harsh words to say about the split.

She told the Mirror: “He deserves it [being dumped]. He’s a t****r, that’s the truth.”
