Cheryl Cole: renewing wedding vows is as tacky as hell

Cheryl Cole has reportedly dismissed rumours that she and husband Ashley Cole are planning to renew their wedding vows.

The couple were said to be planning a private ceremony to celebrate their union early next year - a year after their marriage nearly ended after Ashley’s infidelity came to light through a kiss-and-tell story.

But a source close to the Girls Aloud star told Heat magazine: “When I asked Cheryl about it, she just said, ‘Why the hell would I renew my vows when I only got married a couple of years ago? It’s ridiculous. It’s as tacky as hell’.”

But the couple are committed to making their marriage work: “It’s up and down with them, but there are more good days than bad. They are spending a lot of time together and seeing their marriage vows through.

“There’s no denying it’s not easy for her. Things aren’t back the way they were - Ashley is on a short leash and he undoubtedly knows that.”
