kerry katonaKerry Katona’s husband Mark Croft has said he thinks, if anything, his wife is more popular after her slurred interview on This Morning last month.

The former Atomic Kitten star is said to have lost her lucrative magazine column after the interview, split from her long-term publicist Max Clifford and is having to medically prove she isn’t an alcoholic to avoid being dumped from her advertising gig with frozen food chain Iceland.

But Mark told Star magazine that in fact with the launch of her new perfume, her fame is going from strength to strength: “The public love her. If her career has gone downhill, it’s a funny hill we’re going down.

“Kerry’s more popular now then ever - is that a downfall? Who is more written about than Kerry?”

He also denied claims that he’s a controlling husband: “The only people who say I’m controlling Kerry are the press. None of Kerry’s family say I’m taking over her.”
