Melanie Brown: I’ll be with Stephen Belafonte for the rest of my life
Melanie Brown has said she’s adamant that her marriage to Stephen Belafonte will be ‘until death do us part’.
Former Spice Girl Mel divorced first husband Jimmy Gulzar after just two years but almost 18 months after she married Stephen in a private, quickie ceremony in Las Vegas, she’s still confident that their love will last.
Speaking during the couple’s extravagant vow renewal ceremony in Egypt at the end of last week, she told their 29 guests: “We’re going to have a long beautiful, lovely marriage until we die.”
The four-day event included a range of lavish activities with the renewal ceremony itself taking place on the second day. Mel wore a white and pink silk Monique Lhuillier dress while Stephen wore a black Ralph Lauren suit.
There were no bridesmaids but Mel’s daughters - nine year old Phoenix and 20-month old Angel - and Stephen’s four year old daughter Giselle were all flower girls.
The couple is said to have signed a deal worth £200,000 with OK magazine for coverage of the event and Mel told the magazine: “We know everyone is going home with life-changing memories.”
Regarding her husband, she added: “Stephen’s my best friend. He’s hot and he rocks my world. But most importantly he’s someone I can talk to and we make every decision together.”
