His favourite actress (and twice leading lady) Nicole Kidman was across town at the 2008 Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards, but that didn’t stop the Museum of Modern Art in New York honouring Australian director Baz Luhrmann last night.

With Nicole out of the picture, the leading ladies of the red carpet were Jessica Biel, Rachel Weisz and Maggie Gyllenhaal (with her uber-bearded fiance Peter Sarsgaard). Also in attendance were Agyness Deyn (with boyfriend Albert Hammond Jr), Donald Trump, designer Zac Posen and Australia star Hugh Jackman.
