Madonna sets rules for sons’ visit with dad Guy Ritchie
Madonna has reportedly given estranged husband Guy Ritchie a list of rules for his time with his sons Rocco and David - but he’s already broken one of them.
The boys, along with sister Lourdes, have been based in the US with Madonna since news of the couple’s separation broke last month but yesterday they arrived in the UK after an overnight flight.
Film director Guy was at Gatwick airport to greet the boys and eight year old Rocco is said to have shouted “Dad!” and run into Guy’s arms as soon as they saw each other.
An onlooker reported that Guy arrived early for the meet-up: “Guy was really emotional. His eyes were red-rimmed and the strain of his divorce showed - but he was over the moon to see the boys.”
Photographers at the airport captured the moment for posterity - breaking one of Madonna’s rumoured twelve rules, which forbade Guy from being photographed with the children.
According to the Mirror, Guy is also forbidden from talk about the split to them or in front of them, Madonna must be allowed to speak to them at least three times a day at times set by her and the week is for Guy to spend time with the children, not for them to see his parents or other family. Similarly, Guy is not allowed to introduce the boys to any new friends, especially female friends, during the visit.
Madonna is also said to be adamant that the family’s pre-split rules remain in force: the boys are not allowed to watch TV, read newspapers or magazines, they must follow macrobiotic, organic diet free from processed or refined foods and all the water they drink, including in squash or hot drinks, must be blessed Kabbalah water.
The boys must have their hands cleaned with disinfectant spray while out in public, only play with spiritually and ethically sound toys and they’re only supposed to wear clothes Madonna sent with them on the flight - if anything does need to be bought, it must be 100% natural materials. Finally, each day of the visit must end with a bedtime story for David, from Madonna’s own English Rose children’s books.
A source explained: “Guy is understandably annoyed at the demands but he’ll go along with it for now.
“Madonna is treating him like he doesn’t know how to raise his own sons but he reckons it’s better to stay on her good side for the time being so will go along with it. She’ll have less control over him when the divorce is settled.”
The couple are currently in talks over a financial settlement for Guy and the custody arrangements for the children. Madonna wants to move the children to live full time in New York while Guy would prefer his sons to stay in the UK where they have lived up until now.
