Kanye WestKanye West has complained that the MTV Europe Music Awards are fixed in favour of certain stars.

Kanye performed at the awards ceremony in Liverpool last week and picked up the Ultimate Urban trophy - but he told the Sun recently that he doesn’t think he deserved it, and neither did some of the other winners.

He explained: “Britney Spears [winning Act of 2008 and Album of the Year] over Rihanna? Are you serious?

“I mean f****** [ceremony co-host] Jared Leto? He’s my boy but he shouldn’t have won [the Best Rock Act and Video star award] over some of those other artists.

“I won nothing last year and I’d brought out ‘Stronger’. Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act. This [should have been] Lil Wayne’s year.”

According to MTV, all the nominees, and the winners of regional and genre trophies, are selected by viewer votes while the winners of the top awards are decided by a panel of industry professionals from the music station.
