Travis Barker: I’m healing well and already playing drums again

Travis Barker has revealed he’s back behind his drums again two months after surviving a plane crash.

The former Blink 182 drummer received serious burns on his torso and arms after the private Lear Jet in which he was travelling crashed on take-off in South Carolina in September. After undergoing initial treatment at a specialist burns center in Georgia, he was transferred to a hospital in Los Angeles and has undergone several surgeries to help repair the damage.

Travis made his first major public appearance since the crash on the MTV’s TRL final show on Sunday and thanked fans for their support over the last two months: “Thanks for all the support. I feel better every day.

“I’m already playing my drums again, and I’m already back in the studio. [Returning to the drums] was like riding a bike.

“It was really exciting to know I still have my chops. It still felt good. I still can make it around the kit. Everything felt right, so I’m thankful to be able to play.”
