tom cruise and katie holmesTom Cruise and Katie Holmes celebrated their second anniversary yesterday early so Katie wouldn’t miss a performance of her Broadway show.

It was two years yesterday that the couple married in a star-studded ceremony in Italy but the couple celebrated their special day - with their daughter Suri and Tom’s older children Isabella & Connor from his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman - on Monday.

Katie flew back to their home in Los Angeles on Sunday evening, after the matinee performance of All My Sons in New York and as there are no performances scheduled on Mondays, she had a full day with her husband and family before flying back to the East Coast ahead of yesterday evening’s show.

A source close to the family explained that the couple spent celebrate with a low-key family dinner at their home in Beverly Hills: “It was nice for them all to spend time together but Katie was tired so didn’t want to make a big deal of it.

“That’s not to say they’re not still as in love as they were two years ago, just they don’t feel the need to be as flamboyant about it now.”
