Winona Ryder briefly hospitalised after in-flight illness

Winona Ryder was briefly hospitalised in London yesterday after being taken ill on a transatlantic flight.

The actress was met by medics at Heathrow airport after she became ill during a flight from Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for British Airways added that the captain had also requested priority landing for the flight to speed up her transfer to hospital: “The captain of BA282, which was travelling from LA to Heathrow, requested a priority landing as a female passenger required medical attention.

“The passenger was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The plane touched down shortly before noon UK time.”

Winona was taken to a hospital in west London and discharged later in the day.

The nature of her illness has not been revealed.
