Ashlee Simpson-WentzAshlee Simpson-Wentz and husband Pete Wentz have - finally - welcomed their first child, son Bronx Mowgli.

The boy, who was due towards the start of the month, made his grand debut at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles late last night (local time). He weighed in at 7lbs 11oz and measured 20.5 inches in length.

A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the birth and added: “Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes.”

Last month, Pete explained that they were waiting until the baby, their first child, arrived before picking out a name: “I want to meet them first.

“My friend said it - you’ve gotta have a baby with a name that could be a rock star or a senator, so [the baby]’ll get work either way.”
