Paris HiltonParis Hilton has said she’s not ruling out a possible reconciliation with Benji Madden at some point in the future.

News broke last week that the couple of eight months had split up but the socialite told On Air with Ryan Seacrest: “Right now, we’re just taking a break.

“We’re really good friends. We’re very close.”

Sources close to the pair claim Benji was controlling and overprotective, and that Paris had changed during their time together but she told the radio show that she’s “never been treated so well” by a boyfriend in her life: “He’s just very protective as any man would be who’s in love.

“He wants me to make the right choices. Anyone who’s spreading rumors like that is just someone who I probably got out of my life. Since I’ve been with him, I’ve really separated myself from a lot of the places I used to go and people I know.

“I’m still in love with him. He’s such an amazing man. He’s my best friend. He’s been so great to me, so loyal. He is an incredible person, and we will always be really close. We’ll see what happens in the future.”

She added that she’s not planning on plunging back into the dating scene just yet: “I don’t want to date anyone [at the moment]. The thought of that just grosses me out.”
