amy winehouseAmy Winehouse has reportedly met with divorce lawyers to discuss a formal separation from her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

Last weekend news broke that Amy had told friends her 18 month marriage to Blake was over. The singer is said to have the friends that their relationship had been based on sex and with Blake in jail (now rehab) for the last year, she’s realised that without the sex, they have nothing.

Amy was briefly hospitalised on Sunday after what her publicist claims was a bad reaction to medication but which other sources blame a drink and drug binge brought on by a furious telephone argument with Blake about their marriage on Saturday.

A source close to the couple: “The longer she goes without seeing him, the stronger she feels she’s right and meeting with the lawyer shows she’s getting serious about ending it.

“Her family aren’t counting their chickens but are feeling positive.”

The couple married in a quickie wedding in Florida in May 2006 and are not thought to have signed a pre-nuptial agreement. The source added: “The lawyers will of course do all they can to protect her money.

“They’ve not been married that long and he’s spent most of the time in jail so he could be easy to argue he’s not entitled to much but her family accepted she may have to pay him off just to be rid of him and they’re fine with that.”
