Pete Wentz: no one really knows why we called our son Bronx Mowgli

Pete Wentz has said he can’t really explain why he and wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz named their newborn son Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

The couple welcomed the baby boy late last Thursday night and speaking to On Air with Ryan Seacrest yesterday, Pete said that the boy’s middle name Mowgli, obviously, comes from The Jungle Book: “The Jungle Book was something that me and Ashlee bonded over. It’s a cool name.”

But he’s vaguer about why they picked Bronx: “We came up with the idea Bronx [after we’d] been throwing [ideas] back and forth a while.

“I feel weird because all these people have all these ideas on what it means … I don’t think anyone knows the real story of why or how. People are stoked or pissed or whatever. And you’re like, you know what: I don’t think anyone really has the real story.”
