Jennifer Hudson’s brother-in-law to be charged over family murders

Jennifer Hudson’s former brother-in-law has been arrested in connection with the murders of Jennifer’s mother, brother and nephew.

The bodies of Darnell Donerson and Jason Hudson were found at the family home in Chicago on 24th October and the body of seven year old Julian King was found in an abandoned car the following Monday. All had been shot.

William Balfour, who is estraned from Jennifer’s sister, Julian’s mum Julia, was arrested almost immediately after the bodies were found but only labelled a “person of interest” and not an official suspect in the case. He has been held in jail for violation of parole since then but yesterday was transferred back into police custody pending the final approval of the charges by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Jennifer has remained in hiding since the tragedy despite the release of her self-titled debut album last month. She has also established a charity in the names of the victims to help others who lose family members to violent crime.
