Kate Bosworth: it was hard being a teen in Hollywood but worth it

Kate Bosworth has said she found it “pretty brutal” being in Hollywood as a teenager but she thinks she’s stronger now after the experience.

The Superman Returns star landed her first big role at the age of 15 in The Horse Whisperer in 1998 - a time when teen films, and teen stars, were enjoying a resurgence.

She explained: “The obsession with the young Hollywood group started to happen when I was young and in Hollywood.

“It sort of coincided all at the same time.

“At the time, when you’re being dissected and judged it’s pretty brutal, but in hindsight it’s great and - it sounds cliched - you do come out the other side better and stronger.”
