Anne Hathaway sells a date with her for $12,000 for charity

Anne Hathaway was delighted but embarrassed when bids kept rising for a charity auction offering a date with her.

The Devil Wears Prada star, who finished with boyfriend of four years Raffaello Follieri just days before his arrest over the summer, offered the night out as part of the Cracked Christmas fundraiser to aid the Trevor Project, which provides a crisis helpline for LGBT teens in Los Angeles.

Putting herself on the auction block, she explained: “I’m not usually very forward, but I thought if there was ever a crowd for me to do something like this, this is my crowd so I would like to auction myself off for drinks somewhere fabulous and basically get you totally s*** faced. Tell me what I’m worth.”

As the price tag rose into five figures, Anne explained: “I’m blushing [but] wow, I feel really good right now.”

The auction was eventually won by three fans who clubbed together and made a bid of $12,000.
