heidi montag and spencer prattTom Cruise has said he thinks The Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will regret eloping in secret instead of marrying in front of their family and friends.

The couple married in a private ceremony in Mexico at the end of November and stayed in the country for their honeymoon - but speaking in a pre-recorded interview for this week, Tom said he thinks they’ll regret it because Heidi had previously dreamed of a big wedding and only agreed to the low-key nuptials for Spencer’s sake and to avoid family drama.

He explained: “If the girl wants the wedding, you gotta do the wedding.

“It’s a special occasion, and she’ll remember it forever. Spencer… dude… you’ll realize this later.”

The couple have to marry again in the US for the union to be legally recognised there and Spencer told Us Weekly that they’ll be tempted to have a lavish do, if Mr Cruise will get on board: “You all know how I feel about big weddings, but if Tom Cruise says so, it must be true. If Tom’s the best man, we’ll have a big wedding!”
