Reese Witherspoon: I’ll support my kids if they want to act

While most celebrity parents discourage it, Reese Witherspoon has said she’ll support her children if they want to go into acting.

The Four Christmases actress began acting in local television commercials at the age of seven and starred in her first film, The Man in the Moon at the age of 14.

Now a mum to eight year old daughter Ava and four year old son Deacon, from her former marriage to Ryan Phillippe, she told Hello! magazine that she wouldn’t mind if they want to follow in their parents’ Hollywood footsteps - or whatever they want to do with their lives: “I’d be supportive.

“I wanted to be an actor when I was seven years old. And my parents were both physicians, so they thought it was a very strange choice for a little girl in Tennessee, but they were always really cool about it.

“I always appreciated that because you don’t want to feel restricted or like your dreams are stupid.”
