Take That want Robbie Williams for Glastonbury headlining gig?
Take That are reportedly hoping to bag a headlining slot at next year’s Glastonbury Festival - and they hope Robbie Williams will rejoin them from the gig.
According to sources close to the band, their record company Universal is already in talks with festival organisers about the one-off gig - and after Robbie’s pro-TT words of the last week, they think it would be the perfect opportunity for him to join them on stage again.
A source told the Sun: “The lads would love to headline Glastonbury.
“There has been a lot of talk of it in the band’s camp. It would be the perfect pinnacle of their fantastic career.
“It also fits the bill for what the band are looking for in terms of Robbie’s comeback.
“It’s not right for him to join the tour next summer. That’s about their latest album — nothing to do with him.
“But they do want a huge show where they can sing a greatest hits set and as many fans as possible can see it. Glastonbury could be that gig.
“By then work on the third album since their comeback could be under way. Robbie could even be involved in that too.”
Last week, Robbie said that he may rejoin the band some day but has some “unfinished business” of his own to complete first. The ‘Angels’ star is expected to release his own solo album and tour the UK next summer too.
