Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg kissingWith the end of The X Factor on Saturday night, Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg took their much-rumoured romance public with a kiss on the street as Diana left the aftershow party.

Along with all the eliminated contestants, Diana returned to the X Factor stage on Saturday night to help support the finalists: Eoghan, boyband JLS and eventual winner Alexandra Burke. But afterwards, she had to leave the celebration party to play a gig at a nightclub in Birmingham and she cried at having to leave new boyfriend Eoghan - but was consoled by one last kiss before she left.

An onlooker told the Mirror: “That wasn’t just a friendship kiss. They are definitely girlfriend and boyfriend.

“Diana was gutted she had to leave him behind at the celebrations. She’d have liked to have stayed by his side all night.

“They have been on such a rollercoaster together. There were lots of tears, which should have been from Eoghan, but it was from Diana.

“They have really have fallen for each other.”

Eoghan was the first of the remaining three acts to be eliminated on Saturday’s show but is expected to be offered a recording contract by Simon Cowell anyway. Take That’s Gary Barlow has said he’ll sign Diana if Simon doesn’t.
