Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams “still in love but the timing’s wrong”

Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling might have split up again but sources close to the couple say they’re still very much in love.

The couple dated for more than three years after meeting on the set of 2004’s The Notebook but split in 2007. Over the summer, they were rumoured to have reconciled after being spotted together on a number of occasions but went their separate ways again in November.

Now a source close to the pair has told People magazine: “[Ryan] is still close to McAdams’s family and he still speaks to Rachel, but they are both openly single.

“He still loves Rachel and Rachel still loves him, but the timing is off and they can’t make each other happy right now.”

The source blamed their hectic careers for causing problems: Rachel has had a busy year - first filming The Time Traveler’s Wife and now in the UK filming Guy Ritchie’s new film Sherlock Holmes with Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr - and Ryan has landed a regular deejaying gig in Los Angeles and is keen to work on his music.

The source explained: “Gosling is all about making music because he’s putting out a record. He spends a lot of time recording.

“He has been flirting with a lot of girls in L.A. and weighing the options.”
