madonna and guy ritchieGuy Ritchie has reportedly told soon-to-be ex-wife Madonna that she can’t stay at their Wiltshire home this Christmas.

The couple, who began divorce proceedings in October, were rumoured to be planning to spend the day together at their £12million estate, Ashcombe House, for the sake of their children, sons eight year old Rocco and three year old David, and Madonna’s twelve year old daughter Lourdes from a previous relationship. But a source close to film director Guy has said that while Madonna may attend Christmas lunch, he’s told her she can’t stay in their former shared home.

The source told the Sun: “Guy is desperate to see the children on Christmas Day and was OK with them all spending the day at Ashcombe.

“He was even willing to have Madonna there and try to be civilised for the sake of the children.

“But having her stay over was just too much. He couldn’t bear the thought of her padding round the kitchen next morning like old times - there are too many sad memories.

“Guy’s said he’ll do anything she wants - fly to America if needs be - to spend the day with the kids, just as long as it doesn’t involve him and Madonna spending the night under the same roof.”

But unless she is willing to travel the two hours each way from London, Guy’s refusal may put a crimp in their happy-family plans: “It’s not as if she can stay in the B&B up the road. There’s nowhere suitable nearby.

“They’re trying to come to some sort of solution but they just can’t agree on anything - and it’s getting very late to organise.

“If one of them doesn’t back down, it could be a very unhappy Christmas. It seems they were a bit over optimistic to think they could call a truce.”

Earlier this week, Madonna’s spokesperson confirmed the singer is likely to spend the holidays in the UK but it’s “doubtful” she’ll spend them with her ex.
