Earlier this year, the television presenter split from her boyfriend of two years Jesse Jenkins then enjoyed a brief fling with former T4 presenter Steve Jones - but after that “crashed and burned”, she wants to find the man for her.

She told the News of the World recently: “Every [new] year I put up a blackboard in my hall and me and my friends write all our wishes on it.

“And it works! A friend wrote that he wanted a work promotion and he got one a few weeks later. I’m writing that I want to find not just a man, but the man.

“I love my life, but I pack so much in I already feel about 40. I definitely just want to find Mr Right and settle down with him.”

She added that “settling down” will mean starting a family ASAP: “I’m horribly broody. I want to be pregnant, but I want the man first.

“What is absolute torture for me at the moment is that my best, best friend in all the world, Holly Willoughby, is pregnant. I’m incredibly happy for her, but so disgustingly jealous at the same time.

“The only way I can deal with it is by trying to get back at Holly. So I’m smugly drinking mulled wine in front of her because I know she can’t have any. It’s my small pleasure!”
