Britney Spears to pay out more to dad to control her life

Britney Spears‘ dad Jamie Spears has been granted an extra $6,125 a month as payment for looking after the troubled star.

After she was hospitalised twice in less than a month, Jamie was appointed Britney’s legal conservator and had to give up his job as a private chef to care for singer full time.

In April, the court overseeing the control order granted him permission to take $10,000 a month to cover his costs and time - but now the judge has adjusted the amount to $16,125 a month, backdated to the start of the conservatorship in February, to reflect the additional work Jamie did, including working with her manager to arrange her comeback and planning her tour for next year.

The judge also gave permission to Jamie to rent office space at Britney’s expense - to the tune of $1200 a month - and to pay Britney’s brother Bryan Spears a lump-sum of $200,000 for his time and services last year before the conservatorship was established.

Britney is also thought to have paid out around $1million in legal fees covering the establishment and continuation of the conservatorship.

A source close to the family explained: “Before this year, Jamie refused to take any money off his daughters and worked hard earning money himself.

“But he’s not been able to work since February and it’s been a tough year for him too so while he doesn’t want to get rich of her, he doesn’t want to get into any debts either. He’s still not taking a lot of money off her, given her fortune, just what he thinks is fair. Compared to what they’ve had to pay lawyers, it’s nothing.”
