Scarlett Johansson’s celebrity cold tissue raises $5,300 for charity

Scarlett Johansson raised more than $5,000 for charity auctioning off a snotty tissue for charity.

The Lost in Translation star auctioned off the tissue after using it on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last Friday and declaring she thought it was valuable because she was suffering from a valuable “celebrity cold” - one she’d caught off The Spirit co-star Samuel L Jackson.

The tissue, sealed in a signed ziplock bag, was auctioned off on eBay over the weekend and after a typical rush of bids at the last minute, the tissue was sold for $5,300 on Monday night.

All the proceeds from the auction will be given to the charity of Scarlett’s choice, USA Harvest, which provides food for homeless shelters, soup kitchens and the like around the US.
