Lance Armstrong confirms he’s set to become a dad again in 2009

Lance Armstrong has confirmed rumours he’s expecting a child with girlfriend Anna Hansen.

Cycling star Lance had sperm frozen after being diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996 and had three children with his ex-wife Kristin Richards using IVF - but he and Anna conceived their child naturally.

CNN’s medical expert Dr Sanja Gupta explained: “It means his body healed from the chemotherapy and surgery. This is a hopeful thing for testicular cancer survivors.”

Lance confirmed the pregnancy rumours yesterday, saying: “Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful.

“We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts.”

Earlier this year, Lance had a three-month fling with Kate Hudson. He was previously engaged to Sheryl Crow but the couple split up shortly before she was diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2006.
