madonnaMadonna has reportedly been having last-minute talks with her divorce lawyer before a potentially tense Christmas tomorrow.

The singer and her three children arrived in the UK yesterday after she completed the South American leg of her Sticky & Sweet Tour. Shortly after the party arrived at their family home in London, Madonna’s soon-to-be ex-husband Guy Ritchie whisked the children - sons Rocco & David, and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes from a previous relationship - away to his country estate in Wiltshire for the start of their Christmas celebrations while Madonna headed to see her lawyer Fiona Shackleton for a meeting that lasted all afternoon.

Madonna and Guy were previously rumoured to be planning to put aside their differences for tomorrow’s celebration for the sake of the children but a source close to the former couple told the Mirror that doesn’t look very likely now: “It doesn’t look like Madonna is that keen on having a family Christmas.

“The first thing she did when she arrived was have a meeting with her divorce lawyer. That won’t make things any easier when she is trying to keep things civil over the dinner table at Christmas.

“It remains to be seen how much time Madonna and Guy will spend together as they’ve started off by doing their best to avoid each other.”

According to the Sun, Guy has relaxed his previous ban forbidding Madonna from staying at the estate, Ashcombe House, but only on the condition that she does not talk about their split, boss around their staff or lay down rules about what the children can or can’t do, eat or play with.

A source told the newspaper: “This Christmas is very special to him.”

The couple officially separated in October this year and their divorce is expected to be finalised early in the new year.
