Madonna has reportedly won her custody battle with Guy Ritchie.

The couple are said to have agreed to joint custody of their sons, eight year old Rocco and three year old David, but Guy was resisting Madonna’s plans to move the boys to New York as it would make his access harder.

The boys, along with Madonna’s twelve year old daughter Lourdes from a previous relationship, had previously been based out of the couple’s former marital home in London until Madonna moved back to the US last summer, initially for rehearsals for her Sticky & Sweet Tour then permanently after she announced her separation from Guy.

A source close to the family told the Sun that after lengthy legal meetings, Madonna has now been given temporary permission to move the boys to New York with a permanent ruling expecting to follow shortly: “Everything is going to be resolved in the next couple of weeks.

“Everything is going well. It’s pretty amicable at the moment. Things are progressing.”

The couple’s divorce initially looked like it would rival Paul McCartney’s split from Heather Mills in terms of acrimony and bitterness but they are believed to have called a truce for the sake of the children and after spending time together as a family at Christmas, have agreed to maintain the peace at future important events too.

Brad Pitt has said he and partner Angelina Jolie can’t wait until awards season is over.

The couple are both Oscar nominated for their acting in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Changeling respectively - and are having to juggle promotional activities for the films with the awards ceremonies themselves - and raising their six children including their six month old twins, Knox and Vivienne.

Speaking at the Japanese premiere of Benjamin Button on Wednesday night, Brad explained: “It is nice, we go and support each other [which is very cool and rare I think].

“[But] Man, we’re too busy dealing with Kleenexes and diapers and getting everyone fed to really celebrate. We’ll do that next year.”

Amy Winehouse has lost around £15,000 worth of possessions after a break-in at her London home.

Two men are said to have kicked in the front door to her home in Camden, North London in the early hours of yesterday morning and taken, amongst other things, her flatscreen TV, five guitars and digital recording equipment. Some of the items were later recovered after being abandoned nearby but men made off with the rest before police could arrive.

A source close to the star told the Sun: “Amy is devastated. Some of the guitars are irreplaceable due to their sentimental value.

“The flat is in a real state. It had been cleaned up in preparation for her return.

“Now she will have to start from scratch to replace what has been stolen.”

The singer has been on holiday in St Lucia in the Caribbean since before Christmas. She initially intended to stay on the island for a fortnight but has repeatedly extended her stay since then. She is now expected to fly home next week.

Renee Zellweger has revealed she attended Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration incognito last week.

While most celebrities shelled out on expense seats to watch the swearing-in then donned their best evening attire for the various balls that evening, Renee has revealed she only decided to go at the last minute.

She explained this week: “It was incredible… I was rubbing shoulders with about three million people that day. I just had to be there.

“I wasn’t prepared, I wasn’t prepared for how emotional it was going to be. I was prepared for the crowd, I was prepared for the cold, I was prepared to hike the three miles…

“I got on a train. I really didn’t plan well, I had no access, no ticket. I just thought I’d follow the crowd.

“I am so glad I was there, regardless of the fact I couldn’t feel my toes for three days after the fact.”

Naomi Watts has said she still finds it “incredibly difficult” to think about the death of ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger.

The couple dated for two years between 2002 and 2004 and after they split, the pair remained close friends until Heath’s death a year ago.

She told Parade magazine recently that she didn’t really know his work until they met on the set of Ned Kelly: “I hadn’t really been that familiar with his work and then, when I got to the set and did that first scene with him, I was like, ‘Wow! This guy is alive.’

“It was just something deep in his eyes. You could look into them, and they would tell a thousand stories in one glance.

“There was a wonderful mixture of power and fragility at work in everything he did, which just pulls you in. His strength didn’t scare you. It intrigued you.

“His fragility touched you… It’s still incredibly difficult [to talk about].”
