Jade Goody still bedridden after exhausting wedding

jade goodyJade Goody was reportedly too ill to make a trip to hospital yesterday, still exhausted from her wedding at the weekend.

The reality TV star was scheduled to attend an out-patient appointment at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London yesterday but a source close to the family told the Mirror that she was in too much pain to make the journey: “She knew this was going to happen and that she would be this tired and ill.

“It was the price she was always going to pay for putting so much into Sunday’s bash. She feels terrible - but wouldn’t change a thing.

“She is still on a high and thrilled with the memories of her wedding. It was such a perfect day she is more than happy to suffer for it now.

“We’re just hoping she’ll bounce back.”

Jade has a hospital bed at her home in Essex and has a cancer care nurse on hand to help out with her pain control.

Her spokesperson Max Clifford added: “The doctors came to her [this week] and made sure that everything possible was being done to keep on top of the pain.

“I am sure she will recover, Jade being Jade. She just needs a few days’ rest and I’m sure she’ll be better by the end of the week.”

Jade married on-off boyfriend of four years Jack Tweed in a lavish ceremony last weekend. Jack proposed to Jade earlier this month after doctors told her she has less than two months to live.

Jodie Foster argued with police over speeding ticket?

jodie fosterJodie Foster was reportedly far from pleased after being pulled over for speeding in Los Angeles recently.

A source told the New York Post that the Panic Room star was stopped after police clocked a Prius allegedly driving at 54mph in a 35mph zone. The police were accompanied on the stop by a crew from US reality show Speeders - but Jodie refused to be filmed.

The source explained: “Foster refused to sign a waiver to appear on the show, so the camera crew ceased filming and returned to the police car.

“But she [still] grew quite agitated and angry, and kept insisting to the police officers that the radar gun must have made a mistake.

“She maintained to the officers that she was only going 30mph at the time they pulled her over, and she kept interrupting and complaining that the process was taking too long.”

The police officer put in a call to ask his supervisor to attend the scene but the source added that “just further annoyed her”: “Despite her numerous requests otherwise, the cops still issued her a citation.”

A spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Police service confirmed: “She was upset that she got pulled over, but she signed the ticket and went on her way.”

Pete Doherty: the Libertines will reform again

pete dohertyPete Doherty has confirmed he is going to regroup his former band The Libertines in the near future.

The group - singer/rhythm guitarist Pete, singer/lead guitarist Carl Barât, drummer Gary Powell and bassist John Hassall - got together in 1997 and released two critically acclaimed albums in 2002 and 2004, but their later years as a band were disrupted by Pete’s drug use.

Pete was first asked to leave the group in 2003, after he was jailed for burgling Carl’s flat, then again in 2004 because of his unwillingness to deal with his drug abuse. Pete went on to form Babyshambles while Carl and drummer Gary started Dirty Pretty Things.

Speaking at this week’s NME Awards though, Pete explained that a reunion is definitely on the cards: “I’ve written and recorded a solo record. There’s probably another on the way.

“There’s an amazing Babyshambles record on the way too and The Libertines is going to happen.

“I didn’t twist Carl’s arm too far. He doesn’t take kindly to it. He’s not harder than me, but he’s got a nasty streak. Twist it too far and it’ll snap.”

An inside source added: “Carl has always said he would not get back together just for the money. Pete’s drug use and erratic behaviour tore the band apart and its demise left Carl heartbroken.

“He vowed not to return until his old best pal had sorted out his problems and, after having a lengthy heart-to-heart with him, he’s confident Pete has turned a corner.

“He is looking forward to working with him again.”
