Jade Goody faces hospital as doctors worried about her health

Jade Goody is reportedly facing hospitalisation because doctors are worried about the state of her health.

The former Big Brother star had to cancel appearances in a pantomime in Lincoln last week after she developed a “flu-type” illness - and after months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat her cervical cancer, her immune system is too weak to fight it.

A source close to Jade told the Mirror: “Jade was desperate to appear in panto and not let anyone down.

“Although her treatment appears to have been going well, it may have been a case of too much too soon.

“She is very prone to infection and has obviously picked up something which has hit her incredibly hard.”

Jade visited The Royal Marsden Hospital in London for tests yesterday, with doctors saying she’d have to be admitted if she didn’t get better by the end of the week.

Jade was diagnosed with cancer in August and in September underwent a hysterectomy in an attempt to stop the disease spreading - but cancerous cells were already present in nearby internal organs. She was given a 50/50 chance of survival but is said to be responding well to subsequent treatments.
