LaToya Jackson picked CBB over I’m a Celebrity to avoid bushtucker trials

LaToya Jackson reportedly wanted to go on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here instead of Celebrity Big Brother - but balked when she realised what the former show would entail.

A source from the ITV show said she liked the idea of appearing in the series, which is filmed in the Australian jungle, until she found out about the infamous bushtucker trials, which see contestants dared to eat a range of insects and other “delicacies”.

The source told the Sun: “When she realised she might have to eat kangaroo testicles that was it.”

Instead LaToya, the fifth of the nine Jackson children, decided to follow her brother Jermaine Jackson into the Celebrity Big Brother house. Jermaine appeared on the show’s last series in 2007; the 2009 series of the show started on Friday and will run for the next three weeks on Channel 4.
