Madonna’s daughter Lourdes signs up for drama school

Madonna’s daughter Lourdes is reportedly keen to become an actress and is taking advantage of her recently move to New York to further her career.

The 12 year old, from Madonna’s relationship with fitness trainer Carlos Leon, moved from London to the US last summer with her younger brothers Rocco & David to allow their mum to rehearse for her Sticky & Sweet Tour. After Madonna formally split from husband Guy Ritchie in October, the star and her children are expected to make the city their main base for the foreseeable future - and Lourdes has signed up for drama school

A source close to the family told the Daily Mail: “Lourdes is desperate to become an actress and has joined Manhattan’s Professional Children’s School.

“She is determined to prove herself and plans to throw herself into studying the technique.”

The source added that Lourdes has already been offered parts - including a role in last year’s Dakota Fanning/Jennifer Hudson movie The Secret Life of Bees - but Madonna made her turn them down because she didn’t want her getting into the business so young.

The Professional Children’s School is a private day school for those already working in the entertainment business or hoping to do so in the near future. Former students include Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mischa Barton and Ashley Tisdale.
