Katie Holmes spent $15million during her six months in New York?

Katie Holmes has reportedly spent over $15million during her six month stint on Broadway.

The former Dawson’s Creek actress moved to New York last summer to appear in a new production of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, which opened in September.

According to the New York Post, most of the expense has been met by Katie’s husband Tom Cruise, who has bought three apartments in the same building for Katie and their staff to live in, and also to give their two year old daughter Suri space to play.

But a source explained, life on the East Coast has also created over expenses: flights back to Los Angeles (and for Tom to visit New York), extra security staff as she moves about the city - and of course, easy access to New York’s designer shops and boutiques.

The source said: “Katie’s been working hard but she’s been spending hard too. She has been valiantly doing her bit to boost our economy.

“Heading back and forth to the theatre, she’s been on show more than she would be in Los Angeles so she’s had to make sure her wardrobe is up to scratch.

“Suri’s also starting to get excited about clothes so they buy a lot for her too.”

Katie is expected to return to her regular life in Los Angeles after the show comes to an end at the weekend.
