brad pittBrad Pitt has attempted to clear up the ongoing rumours about the start of his relationship with Angelina Jolie.

The couple have repeatedly insisted they didn’t start their romantic relationship until after Brad separated from then-wife Jennifer Aniston four years ago - but comments in the last year by both Angelina and Jennifer have hinted the relationship started before the split.

However Brad has now told W magazine that just because he and Angelina fell in love on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith, it doesn’t mean he was unfaithful to the Friends star: “What people don’t understand is that we filmed [Mr & Mrs Smith] for a year. We were still filming after Jen and I split up.

“Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful.”

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star added that he thinks Jennifer understands that too and her “uncool” comments were blown out of proportion: “Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created.

“We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be [that]. That’s life, man. That’s life.”
