Last January, Cheryl briefly left husband Ashley Cole after he was rumoured to have been unfaithful to her. The issue came to light after the other woman sold a kiss-and-tell story to a newspaper — as happened with David Beckham and his one-time assistant Rebecca Loos.

The Girls Aloud star told Vogue recently that she thought Victoria would call given she’d been through the same situation: “She was in my hotel room during the World Cup – we’ve had barbecues together - so I was quite shocked by that.

“I mean, David’s mum is friends with Ashley’s mum.”

Cheryl added she turned to her Girls Aloud bandmates for support instead and didn’t think about going to other footballers WAGs because they’re “like wooden blocks”.
