madonna and guy ritchieMadonna and Guy Ritchie were reportedly delighted with how their Christmas celebrations worked out and have agreed to put their differences aside on a number of occasions over the next few months.

The couple announced their separation in October and after being granted a quickie divorce in November, are expected to have their marriage formally dissolved any day now - but spent time together over the holidays for the sake of their children, sons Rocco & David and Madonna’s daughter from a previous relationship, Lourdes.

A source told the News of the World: “When it comes down to it, they are both parents and they want to do what’s right for their children.

“But the children aren’t stupid, especially Lourdes who is old enough to understand what’s been going on. There was a lot of pain and nastiness last year.

“Christmas was something done through gritted teeth, but it worked out in the end and was a success for the kids.”

The couple are now said to have agreed to get together - and behave - for the next year’s worth of holidays and events, including the children’s birthdays and dates related to the Kabbalah religion.

A second source added: “They’re mature adults, they can play nice for a few hours.”
