Last year the Samantha Who? star mourned the death of a former boyfriend then had to undergo a double masectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Speaking at the Golden Globes on Sunday, she told People magazine: “You can’t get any darker than I went [last year].

“[This year is] about finding happiness and joy, as if it were water and I was a person dying in a desert. You have to search for that.”

She is also determined to get back into shape: “I missed running so much [when I was ill]. I’m looking forward to running more.”

Christina was nominated for the ‘Best Actress in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical’ award for her role in the memory loss sitcom but lost out to Tina Fey.
