Kelly Brook will reportedly receive her full £200,000 series salary for Britain’s Got Talent - even though she was fired after less than a week.

Kelly was signed up to the talent show’s judging panel just before auditions started in Manchester last week but after sitting in for the first try-outs, she was told she had been axed from the show over the weekend.

A spokesperson for the show’s producer and head judge Simon Cowell explained yesterday that the addition of a fourth judge to the panel was “an experiment” that didn’t work out and not a problem with Kelly: “It was an experiment and Simon just feels very bad because it’s been made to seem as if she failed and she didn’t fail.

“He said to me this morning: ‘She was good, she was genuinely good’ … and that’s why he was very very keen to let everybody know that Kelly did everything that was asked but it it was one judge too many for that format.”

But sources close to Kelly say that she’s very hurt by the u-turn: “Kelly is feeling down. It was a shock when she got the call telling her she was out.

“It seems Cowell is embarrassed by the whole affair and wants it to go away, hence why he’s giving Kelly the cash.

“[But] People close to Kelly are furious about this. She has been royally screwed over and stitched up by Simon.”
